Ver series con subtítulos en español ayuda muchísimo. También por ejemplo si tienes un nivel muy bajo puedes empezar leyendo cuentos para niños. Las canciones también son muy útiles, aunque también sean para niños, con ellas te enteras y memorizas vocabulario si las canciones son pegadizas. Yo he mejorado mucho y ampliado mi vocabulario viendo vídeos de youtubers que hablan inglés y también con canciones que me gustan. Ahora ya suelo enterarme de lo que dicen casi todas las canciones, aunque si hay palabras que no entiendo busco la letra de esa canción y así aprendo nuevas palabras o como pronunciarlas.

@mariabelen_97 In addition to the very good advice above. English spellings are the definition of ridiculous. The phonetic spellings in the dictionary are useful for confirming the pronunciation of what you hear. They are their own alphabet and the characters don't make the same sounds that they do in the English alphabet. The link below is a list of the phonetic characters, along with example words and recordings. You can use it as a reference to match character and sounds.
