Question about English (US)
When it comes to the word "WANDER", there are a lot of meanings such as take a walk, travel, hang out, absent-minded, stray on the street, etc. as far as I know.
I want to ask when would be the most common to use this word? Does this word "WANDER" have negative meanings?
Thank you!

to WANDER: does imply movement.. walking.. . but without purpose or a goal.
example: we just WANDERED around the mall.
"hang out" is not the same. But you could.. "wander over there and THEN hang out at the store"
a WANDERING MIND: means that you are not focusing on anything in particular
a lost dog might WANDER the streets
I don't think it has negative meanings.
most common? "wandering around a store", maybe.
