Question about English (US)

Would you mind answering my question?

Please look at the sentences below.

Being young or being old depends on your point of view. Even at 44, if you are thinking that you yourself are old, then you really are.

My dictionary says "you" is used...
1as the subject or object of a verb or after a preposition to refer to the person or people being spoken or written to, and
2for refering to people in general.

I suppose "you" isn't used with the meaning2 in the sentences above,
because "yourself", not "yourselves", is also used.

Is my interpretation correct?
Thank you so much in advance!
