If I just say I spent 10 hours a day putting into without specifying that I refer to working or studying, does that make sense? Or do I have to make it a full sentence like I put into working/studying.....?

IMP, I think you should make it a full sentence since if you just simply stop at putting into, it would not be clear enough for the reader to understand what you are talking about.
