Question about English (US)

My English teacher taught me that "Why would she work with him?" means "Why did she work with him? I don't understand she did it." or "What makes you think she is going to work with him? she is not.".

so I understanded "why would ~?" has 2 different meanings.

but some people(even they are also English teachers) said, ""Why would she have worked with him?" means "Why did she work with him? I don't understand she did it.".

Can I use "Why would she work with him?" as meaning of "Why did she work with him? I don't understand she did it."?
