A friend, " Have you ever seen Mount Shasta in Northern California? I saw it for the first time in 2017. "

Marvelous isn't a very modern thing to say, so I would advise "stunning", but "gorgeous" would be good too. Obviously "amazing" is an adjective that is widely used in many contexts like this, as well as "incredible", or for a stronger adjective, "breathtaking".
I think "stunning" is a great choice, because it implies not only beauty, but also an element of awe. My second choice would be "incredible". :)

What you wrote is perfectly natural, except one thing:
Instead of "looked up it", you should say "looked it up" :)
