Can you point me in the direction = can you tell/show me where something or someone is located.
At a bank/business:
A. Can you point me in the direction of your branch manager?
B. Her office down this hall, the second door on the right.
With a person’s name = Someone you haven’t met.
A. Can you point me in the direction of Mr. Smith?
B. He is in room 212.
This phrase isn’t usually used on the telephone. It’s most often used when you are in public and you don’t know where something or someone is.
Shopping mall:
A. Can you point me in the direction of the restroom?
B. It’s on the second floor near the food court.
I hope this helps. 😊

@Brightstarlight7 Thank you so much for the reply! Some more questions: The word point here means physically pointing?
Can you also use this on the phone?
Like when you are looking for a specific person at companies?
And when a person’s name comes after “in the direction of”, what does that mean?
Sorry for plenty of questions..
