yes, we use this word 「一応」（いちおう）a lot.
for us it's very convenient word, but it's very hard to translate to english.
it has various meaning, but actually if it is omitted , the meaning of the sentence doesn't change so much .

一応in your sentence is similar to 「一通り」（ひととおり）。
