Question about French (France)

hi, so for the most part, how you would conjugate group 2 regular French verbs ending in “ir” (passé compose) with the auxiliary verb avoir is by dropping the “r” (e.g. choisir-> choisi). What about for auxiliary verb etre? do you also drop the r when wanting to conjugate in passé compose? Or is it different? Thank you in advance :)
