“take after” is more like you inherited something (like a habit or trait) from a family member. to “resemble” is to be similar to someone/something.

Take after means you take after after how someone acts and resemble means you resemble the way they look and possibly act.

@redsuke18 I don’t think there’s a big difference.
“Take after” means they look more like a specific person. Like a family member.
“Resemble” means they kind of look like someone.

@redsuke18 they have the same meaning,but you can use resemble even if you want to say "that the other person resemble a chair" foe example. when you're using take after is more like a comparison between 2 people
