it is said in grammar that we should use "not" with "suspect" - but in exercise 62.2 it is said that it could be either "suspect not" or "don't suspect so".

There's no grammatical reason why; it's just convention. Or does your confusion come from "don't"?
"Don't" is just "do not," so it still follows the guidelines in the book.
Honestly I think your book is a little outdated though, because I would never hear or say "I don't suspect so." Some of the other examples in the second picture sound kind of old-fashioned too.
