"ain't" is an informal American word for "won't" or "don't"

well in my opinion, they can mean the same thing
the second one is kinda like the ghetto way to say it

So is „you ain‘t do it“ also right or is it „you ain‘t going to do it“?
- English (US)
@Maximilian_Schwarz you would either say
you ain't doing it or you ain't gonna do it
btw saying you ain't going to do it sounds a bit weird (to me anyways) because it's a mix of standard English and ghetto English if you get what I mean

both:
"you ain't doing it"
"you ain't going to (gonna) do it"
"we ain't got time for this!"
But again, this is an American slang, mostly spoken in the south and southwestern, maybe central regions of the US.

Both sentences have basically the same meaning, except that "ain't" is more a colloquial, informal word which is considered improper English, and should not be used in formal or work settings.

I want to add that "ain't" is also slang for aren't:
You ain't that tall".
You may even hear: "Ye ain't never done that before" meaning you have never done that before.
Basically the word "ain't" is a bastardized way of making words negative.

Ok, thank you to all of you. I‘ll go with the formal use and just say won‘t/ don‘t. Thank you and best regards from Germany to the states ✌🏼
