Good question!
Chest usually means male and
Brest usually means female
"He had a broad chest"
However that's not always followed
Either gender can "Have chest pain". Meaning a pain inside their chest
Either gender can wear "breastplate" or a "chestplate". Types of armor
Woman have "breasts"... but if a man was fat, he could also have them

Chest is most commonly used when talking about a man.
"He has a sudden pain in his chest."
"Thomas has a tattoo of a battleship on his chest."
Breast is most commonly used when talking about a woman, especially when the reference is about suckling or nurturing. It focuses on the mammary glands.
"The infant clutched tightly to his mother's breast."
"The dress was cut very low and barely covered her breast."
If you are not focusing on the mammary glands, you can use chest for women as well.
"She had a sudden pain in her chest."
"The dagger made a deep wound in her chest."
Breast is commonly used metaphorically in poetry.
"Music has charms to soothe the savage breast."
"The Earth pulled mankind close to her breast."
If you are talking about the food, it is always "breast of chicken", never "chest of chicken".
