Question about English (US)
I just watched a short scene on a movie where two people were talking about someone who escaped prison.
Person 1: He just escaped.
Person 2: I thought as much.
My question is, what does "I thought as much" mean? Does it mean the same as "That's what I thought"?

@harukaart Thanks! May I ask you another question? Was it correct to say "on a movie"? Should it have been "in a movie"?
