USUALLY:
trail: for walking, made of dirt
road: for cars, made of asphalt
track: for a machine, made of metal. Also, for running.
path: like trail, but could be of asphalt or dirt
way: very generic, can mean any of the above, not used very often in English other than in phrases like "Show me the way"
