Kinda - When something is almost true, but not completely. Replying with “kinda” infers that you will add a reason to why you used kinda, (see sentence below). Normally “kinda” is thought of as slightly more negative than “a little”.
“Ex: Do you like soup?
I kinda like soup, not really but I’ll eat it on a cold day. “
A little - To show your mild appreciation in something, or to show that it isn’t of big as a priority.
“Ex: Do you like the color orange?
A little. It’s not my favorite though”
