Question about English (US)
Could you please tell me whether this text read well? I had some douts as to whether I should have used "more" or "longer".

Once Barney went to speak with Robin, she told him that it would at least take five minutes in order to get to know with someone. Barney did not seem to be of the same idea and so he indicated a guy sitting across the table.
He told Robin that a relationship with such a guy would not last more/longer than five minutes.

My apologies. I missed that portion of the question.
The text you wrote reads quite well, but there are a few changes you could make for quality purposes.
The line, "Barney did not seem to be of the same idea and so he indicated a guy sitting across the table" is a bit of a run-on sentence. You could split this into two sentences.
"Barney did not seem to (have/share) the same idea. He (gestured/indicated) toward a guy sitting across the table."

In this context, "longer" sounds more natural to me. Both are grammatically correct, so it is the writer's choice when deciding which one to to use.
