Question about English (US)
In which cases the preposition "to" means "de" in Spanish? Do you know the answer? I don't know why it translates that way:
All of those books belonged to my grandfather.= Todos estos libros eran de mi abuelo.
I am trying to become bilingual. = Estoy tratando de convertirme en bilingüe.

Doesn’t “de” mean “from” or “of” in most cases? If so, it isn’t really used in place of “to” in English.
