How do you say this in English (US)? Schloß - Burg (I know it’s castle but in Germany both are different things and in English both are castles??)

If the difference is that a Schloß is not fortified and a Burg is fortified, then:
Schloß = castle oder palace
Burg = castle oder fortress

@XtraFancy yes! Schloß were mostly for kings/queens
So I can say fortress for „Burg“ or do English people just say Castle for both?
