PRETTY has 2 meanings:
1. good looks — Betty is pretty (Betty looks good). The decorations are pretty.
2. very — This candy is very sweet / This candy is pretty sweet. Our cat is pretty stubborn (very stubborn).
BEAUTIFUL usually has only one meaning: good looks.
