To brace for something implies that it is going to cause some pain or trouble if you don't. Prepare for, at least to me, implies that you are studying for a test or writing a speech or something to do with work or school. And last but not least, to get ready for implies that you are dressing up for something. They basically all mean the same things, but their nuance is different. Hope this helps!!

In addition to what @shusband said, the timing is often different.
Brace for: usually something that is coming almost immediately.
Example: Brace for impact!
Get ready for: Something that is happening soon, but not immediately.
Example: I am getting ready to leave.
Prepare for: Something that is happening further in the future.
I'm preparing for a test.
This isn't going to be accurate 100% of the time, but I hope it helps.
