1. per andare in centro -> va bene e significa “per andare nel centro città” (= la parte principale della città); es. “per andare in centro che strada devo prendere?”, “per andare in centro che linea della metropolitana devo prendere e a che fermata devo scendere?”
2. per andare al centro -> non si usa per indicare il centro città, ma si può usare in altri contesti e significa spostarsi verso il centro di qualcosa che è noto a chi parla o che si indica su una mappa (es. “per andare al centro del parco, che direzione devo prendere?”) o per indicare un centro commerciale o un centro sportivo che è chiaro dal discorso e sottinteso (es. “per andare al centro (commerciale/sportivo), che strada devo prendere?”).
