Question about Ukrainian
I just finished watching the Netflix documentary "Зима у вогні: Боротьба України за свободу" I can express how inspiring it is. The union, solidarity, and the love of their people to their country. It was hard to see how much you fought for a better future I can't imagine how it was to be there. I was wondering after more than 6 years how much it has change?, how do you feel today in Ukraine?

It inspired all the Ukrainian culture which was, I would say, reborned then after 21th century Russian influence. Usual national romantism came, we started to pay a lot of attention to the fact we are Ukrainians. Almost every artist sings in Ukrainian instead of Russian (singing in which you will have a way bigger number of listeners all around post-USSR world), there are many our own movies instead of Russian soap dramas. Music, literature — everything, every aspect of culture has become more Ukrainian. Speaking of economy, it didn't rise up back still since 2015, thanks to our great not-Russian-agent-president-Poroshenko, who doesn't even speak Ukrainian clearly.
About Internet hate, it did not calm down since 2014 and Russians still say they are doing nothing wrong with Ukraine — there was a "referendum" in Crimea, Donbass republics are self-governed and they do not support them. The oddest thing is that they make such a view like they are innocent ships and there are awful "Ukrainian nationalists", chupacabra, which is used to scare stupid soviet grannies who vote for Putin.
Also people can disagree, but as I see Ukrainians become less aggressive to Russian culture itself, our people may have a normal conversation if we do not touch territorial theme. Six years ago it was impossible.

@djdjfh I see. It is nice to hear that at least things are improving and that culture is being preserved. I like the language, it is so melodic and the history of the country is really interesting. Many of its events reminding me of the history of Mexico. After all both Mexico and Ukraine are two countries that live next to massive world powers. Seeing that documentary made me emotional as you can see the best and worst of the human soul. Brothers killing brothers, but as well as strangers helping each other like a big family regardless of language, status, religion or color. Спасибі за вашу відповідь. я бажаю тобі найкращого в житті. ніколи не припиняйте боротьбу за краще майбутнє!

@jesusjmzplo Actually it's not common and usual for Russian-speaking space to call Russia a massive world power. It's in such a deep economic crisis and has its own problems. Germany, France, Britain, China, Japan — any of them is stronger than Russia economically, any 2 in common are stronger by military power, and of course any of them is 3 times better in population wealth. Because of communists Russia is not a world power longer, it's just a random European country, but with compulsory recruitment and nuclear weapon. Many Europeans(counting both Americas people) think of Russia more than it really is because they remember THAT Russia from 19th century, from Poland to Japan, from Finland to India. In the same borders (without Poland and Finland) the USSR had over 300 m population. After the collapse it left only 140 m, that's less than half! Remember that, Russian federation is not Russian Empire and not even the USSR.
Wish you all the best!

I'd say, the main battle is still ahead.
But people are tired. Economic issues have become even more difficult. The situation was aggravated by the Coronavirus.
For some of us, Maidan and the war have shown that we need to fight for our freedom and we can't rely on our government. Unfortunately, not all people see it.
It's a complicated question.
