Question about English (US)
"I was typecast the minute I did a film called Girlfight years ago."
"Мне давали одни и те же роли с тех пор как я снялась в фильме Женский бой много лет назад."
Как в этом контексте переводится the minute или если опускается, то почему и за что оно отвечает? Спасибо.
Can't understand meaning 'the minute' because it isn't translated in my language literally. Could you give a hint please?

Yeah, It's sort of a phrase, similar to "the moment" so won't have a direct translation.
The sentence basically means:
I was typecast because of my role/work in the film, Girlfight.

The idea is that they played their role really well in that movie. So, they were selected for this one.

@hrtbrkr The minute I walked in, I saw a huge guy standing by the window.
It means 'right when', 'exactly at that moment' or 'right after' ('как только')
In the specific sentence you quoted, the context gives the expression further meaning. Here's a similar example:
I started losing races the minute I came in second in 2010.
Here we see a recurring action or state contrasted with a one-time past action. In this case it is synonymous with 'ever since' or 'after'. The translation into Russian you cite is perfectly accurate, but it is a feature of the context of the sentence and not the expression as such that it translates that way. Hope that made sense

Thank you for explanation. Turned out to be easier than i'd thought. I think it's because of that translation option. "Мне давали одни и те же роли в тот момент(the minute) как я снялась в фильме Женский бой много лет назад." - It would be more clear and obvious for me.
