I’ve heard that too (and I’m from America) but all of my friends (and myself included) take their shoes off when they get home. My parents wear their shoes around the house because they have foot problems and need the constant arch support

@porpleubangtan Oh I see, we've always told that people wear shoes at home in America. Also we see that in all TV shows. I've never seen any character to take off their shoes in any TV Show or movie:))) That's why I was wondering about it. Because it would be extremely exhausting to walk in shoes all day long🤯

😂 yeah I’ve seen that too. I’m sure some people do but I don’t 👍

@nigarhasanli I am a native born American. There are many Americans who wear their shoes at home(young and old), however, I do not like to wear my shoes inside of my house, because it brings dirt and sand from the outside. I always remove my shoes as soon as I walk in my door. My shoes do not come past my front door unless I pick them up to be washed.

Many Americans wear their shoes in the house. But I think this is because they go in and out of their house quickly. They are busy. If they are going to stay home for a while they will take their shoes off.
Guests who stop by for a short visit will keep their shoes on. Telling a guest to take their shoes off is an invitation to stay longer. When I was growing up, I often heard my parents tell guests, "Take your shoes off, stay a while."

@PashaRLyuis I know right! It gets really dirty outside, I can't imagine wearing them inside of home.👀

I live in the city, and I don't really know anyone who takes their shoes off. Especially not a guest. We would think it's weird if a guest randomly took their shoes off.

@PashaRLyuis You know that's the part I can't quietly get🤔 Home is where you finally get comfortable, relaxed and clean at the end of the day. When I come home and take off shoes, I be like "oh, my feet came back to life again"🤣

@courtmschrock Noted. For a moment, I imagined myself in such a weird situation🤣 I hope one day I will be able to afford travelling America. If it happens some day, I will definitely keep it in mind😎

@nigarhasanli it does depend on the people, and as long as we show respect for the other man's house, he will show respect for our house.

@PashaRLyuis Of course all people are not the same. And America is such a big country, even though it's generally common in there, I understand that it still differs for regions, families, or individuals.

@porpleubangtan Are you trying to be a smartass or make problems ?
No one said anything about going to bed with shoes on.
That's just stupid.

@porpleubangtan no, I don't wear shoes to bed. that is just a filthy person or a homeless person who will do that. If the person is homeless, I will understand them wearing shoes to bed.

@porpleubangtan You've heard of people who wear shoes to bed?
Of course I don't wear my shoes in bed. I take them off when I feel like it, or when I changed out of my day clothes.
