You could use either one but you need to add "it" to the end and say "exactly where you left it" or "right where you left it."
In general "exactly" is a bit more specific than "right." If you say "It was right over there," it could mean generally in that area; but if you said "it was exactly over there" you would be referring to a specific spot.
