“Demand” is used when you are forcing somebody to do something. It’s also not used often as a verb but as a noun, that being “a demand”.
“Urge” is used when you keep nagging them to do something that you want them to do. This can also be turned into a noun, “an urge”, is when something you want is tempting you.
I demand you to clean your room.
I demand them to be outcasted.
I urged them to make me some food, but they didn’t want to...
I urge you to leave me alone.
Hope this helps :)

Demand them to do it = Is less friendly and more direct, and a little bit aggressive way of talking.
"I demand you stop working there."
Urge them to do it = This a little more considerate, because it is more like persuade them to do it. This one seems more caring.
"I urge you to stop working there. That is not the best job for you."
