korean names are usually 3 letters, and each letter is originally a chinese character. They're usually put together to make a meaning.
Some people ignore this and just makes whatever name they want in korean, but that is less common than above mentioned method, even in 2017.
There is a person named Sam Okyere. He is a foreigner who has newly risen in popularity in Korea. His last name, Okyere, is pronounced as 오취리. People gave him the name -or he gave himself i don't know- "오철희" (a very old fashioned korean name), because it sounds alot like 오취리. But it was convinient for him since 오 is a common korean last name and 철희 is a common korean first name.
in short, if you want a korean name, you can make whatever name you want ^^! there are no rules you have to follow haha.

@RinaRupa Ohhh for me, my English name is Andrew. It is because I am a Catholic, and my baptism name was Andrew. So I started using Andrew as my first name when I came to Canada.
