Question about English (US)

‎A. I took a picture of him sitting on one of my classroom stools.

I'm curious what A means.
1. I took a picture of him while I was sitting on one of my classroom stools.
2. I took a picture of him while he(=him) was sitting on one of my classroom stools.
3. A can mean either 1 or 2 according to context.

I think that 3 is the correct answer because A sounds ambiguous without context.
