@LearningStar Use the word marginal when something is minimal or barely enough. ... These are the figurative uses for marginal, which comes from the Latin word margo "edge." Literally, the word is used with things on a border.

typically it's not used as a noun, but rather as an adjective. And it doesn't really carry the same meaning as the equivalent Russian expression (outsider, loser, misfit, person on the fringes of society)

Today I was looking for some equivalents in English to also some other Russian phrases,
"пудрить мозги"
"вешать лапшу на уши"
From what I saw by searching it came up as " to fool " someone
