Question about English (US)
Would it sound natural to call wedding dresses and tuxedoes and stuff "wedding costumes"? I'm looking for a generic word to call them entirely.
Thank you in advance!

Hi @akajoe
The word costume is typically associated with something worn in theatre stage productions or worn on Halloween by children
Also consider:
Wedding attire
Or:
Wedding outfits

I’ve never heard anyone express a wedding dress or tuxedo as a “wedding costume,” but I also think that people would understand what you meant if you said it.
You should be fine to use this, but be prepared to explain if someone gets confused ~
I hope that this helps!!

@LovelyLivi Thank you for your reply! I was actually thinking about a label to use for a website (Japanese) with a page that lists wedding dresses and tuxes the shop deals with. I just wanted to avoid weird use of English.
