Right: Mom teaches her son to study.
Wrong: Mom teaches her son study.
In this sentence, you need the preposition "to" for the infinitive.
I don't know what the grammatical rule is. I only know when it sounds right.

“To” is usually pretty mandatory.
I will go to the store.
You can’t say “I will go the store” or “I will go store”
As a preposition to indicates the direction. “I’m going to [place].”
In the sentence you wrote, it’s an infinitive verb. The most common way to use infinitive verbs is as a direct object or an indirect object.
Mom teaches her son [how] to study. (The verb is teaches)
-“to study” is the entire infinitive.
It cannot be “Mom teaches her son study.”
I want “to be” an astronaut. (The verb is want)
Shane asked “to have” another hamburger. (The verb is ask)
The manager promised “to hold” the job for me. (The verb is promise)
Try “to sleep” a little more before our flight. (The verb is try)
