not really... I think replacing "but he..." with "instead of going to see his friends." would help. also I dont really use the word lift... we normally say ride where I am from.

@dominiqueccottle Hm... I am trying to express that my brother should've seen his friends today. But I got something to do quite a hurry in my home. I called him and then he changed his plan and gave me a ride.

@dominiqueccottle You don't suggest using should've? He has a plan to see his friends first, so he changed his plan at the last minute.
