@LisaStefanie Well, you wouldn’t use this word to describe studying, intermittent is a way of describing a pattern of something. You might say something like “It has been raining intermittently today.” Or “The radio has been working intermittently.” If you wanted to say you were studying “intermittently”, then I’d suggest “on and off” instead.

okay, so does that mean that you simply earn less credits than full-time students, so that you study part-time, or that you take a leave of absence? Or is it a study program that takes place intermittently?

@LisaStefanie Oh, in that case, I would interpret it as being a part-time thing. Intermittently is pretty synonymous with sporadic or random.
