I was wondering difference between NO and Not. Is it Spoken or Written?
- English (US)
He was not player isn’t grammatically correct.
He was no player implies that the person described is not good at getting woman. If that’s what you meant by “player”. It could mean different things, but this definition makes the most sense.

@hugEqual we don’t say he/she is no blank. We usually say he/she is not blank.

@l4N @goodmanwillard I was wondered while watching "Cold Pursuit" movie. There is a sentence "Kyle was no a druggie." Is it right "Kyle was not a druggie."?
- English (US)
@hugEqual the best way to say if is “Kyle is not a druggie.” Also I would say I was wondering something while I watched the movie “cold pursuit”.
