We use at last when we have been impatient as a result of long delays. Like finally, at last occurs in the normal mid position for adverbs as well as in front and end position

1.After all means for this reason
e.g. i dont hate her after all, she's my mom
2.despite problens or doubts
e.g. (your example is suitable for this)
