“Sorry” =
“scusa” or “scusa, mi dispiace” (informal, when you talk just to one person);
“mi dispiace” or “mi spiace” (neutral, usable with 1 or more people);
“chiedo scusa” (neutral/formal);
“mi scusi! mi dispiace!” (formal, talking just to one person);
“scusatemi! mi dispiace!” (neutral, when talking to more than one person or formal if you are talking to an old person from the South of Italy - usually from Naples).
