There is no difference in sense. The only difference is grammatical.

« C’est le mien » sounds more formal/written to me but that’s it.

Hi, as mentioned previously they both have the same meaning.
But "c'est le mien" only refers to a masculine word.
Ex : J'ai {un} chien. C'est le mien.
"C'est à moi" can apply to both masculine and feminine words.
Ex : À qui est {cette} bague ? -> C'est à moi.
À qui est {ce} chapeau ? -> C'est à moi.
So if you doubt about the gender of a word, you can still use "c'est à moi", you won't make mistakes.

c'est à moi = wider for example c'est à moi (de jouer, de passer, ect..) means "my turn"
also means "that's mine" but more casual and works with all kind of object.
c'est le mien = it's mine/that's mine, but only for a singular masculine object.
c'est ton vélo ? oui c'est le mien ( here answering c'est à moi would be more casual)
