Question about English (US)
I have noticed that in country music they use "them" in a quite different way. For example:
"Backing in boats, fishing land lines
Running bird docks through *them* Georgia pines"
"She's poppin' right out of the South Georgia water
Thought, "Oh, good Lord, she had *them* long tanned legs"
Is this just idiomatic or a common mistake?

It's the southern style of speaking. They use a lot of words such as 'ain't' and 'don't' ( don't instead of doesn't.) Them usually means 'the' when using that speaking style.
