How do you use phrase "think up" in your daily life?

most people don’t use that phrase. it’s not grammatically correct, unless you’re asking someone to think of something specific. “Think up a solution.” “Think up an answer.” Most people would just say “Think of a solution.” or “Think of an answer.”

Thanks for your answer. I just see it on the Oxford Advanced Learner's English-Chinese Dictionary, it says that the phrase is informal.
