A meadow is a type of field. A field is used to describe an area of land that is free of woodland, cities/towns, wide open space. Can be used to grow crops. A meadow is a field that is covered with grass. Meadows are usually near rivers.
Honestly though, if you were to ask, most people wouldn’t know the difference. We usually think of meadows as prettier and with flowers.
