Question about English (US)
What are taboo topics when you talk with strangers?
What are taboo topics when you talk with strangers?
I heard these are taboo topics.
1. Looks (like I'm jealous you're tall, thin. you have beautiful eyes)
2. Religious things
3. Asking if they're married or have a boyfriend/girlfriend
If there are other topics I should be careful with when I talk with strangers, could you teach me?

1. Looks are 100% okay in my opinion if you are complimenting them, or saying you are jealous of them. It could sound like flirting if the two people are men and women.
I agree with stayinschool, politics and religion. I would also add, asking someone how much money they make at their work/job.

Oh, Looks are okay (in complimenting them)!? I didn't know that! how much money they make at their work/job... _φ(._. )
That makes sense! it's a quite serious topic, isn't it? At least, I shouldn't be the first to ask it.
