I wouldn't say this to anyone aloud. Somethings are better left unsaid, and this is an example.

"It got me" is a way of saying "It made me laugh" or "It made me react."
"So hard" is a slangy way of saying "so much."
Examples:
"I laughed so hard."
"I cried so hard at that movie."
So, "it got me so hard" = "it made me laugh so much."

I think "it hit me so hard" sounds more natural/expected.
The joke/funny-thing 'hits' your brain/mind/heart with it's 'power'.
'Power' might be from circumstance/bad day/other events/personal history.

while it is an expression, it also means other things when you say something like that. I wouldn't recommend saying it out loud to someone you don't know or in a group of people because it can be very easily taken the wrong way.
It would be better to say "it made me laugh so hard". Please don't say "it got me so hard"

I have never heard that before. That sentence makes it sound like the person got an erection.

@ganbaruo maybe not "it hit me so hard" only because you might be misunderstood. sometimes, a nice "i'm dead", "lol" "lmao" or maybe a keysmash does the job :) in real life though, just a "it made me laugh so much/hard" works !!
