@HDGD Keep off means to put back or keep away. "I keep off the robbers from going in my purse." Maintain means to keep what is going on, going on. "I will maintain my grades for school."

Keep off means do not walk on the grass, wet floor, newly poured cement and so on...
To maintain means to keep in good working order.
