Does this sound natural?
Can I omit "now" in this sentence? Is the timing, now --- not tomorrow, still clear?

while your sentence is grammatically correct, it would sound more natural to say "If it is going to rain tomorrow, I have to buy an umbrella now."
yes, you can omit "now." for greater contrast, you could also replace "now" with "today"

@trustingHim17 When I have no real evidence, such as black clouds in the sky, but the weather forecast says it will rain tomorrow, does it still sound less natural to say "If it will rain tomorrow"?
- English (US)
no, even with the forecast as your only evidence, "if it is going to rain" is still more natural. i cannot think of a single instance where i would say or have heard someone say "if it will"
