@Anth22 Lockdown - generally used when an area is restricted for security reasons. E.g. The governor reissued a lockdown order after another wave of the virus hit the state.
Lockup - not very commonly used, I think it’s an informal way to say prison. You could say “lock up” as a verb, meaning you’re locking a door or building.
Confinement - the state of being confined or restricted to certain space. Solidarity confinement is when you stay in an isolated area as punishment (in prison). It often has a negative connotation.
E.g. He was put in solitary confinement for a week after he violated patrol.
If you’re looking for a way to describe isolation due to the pandemic, you could say quarantine.
