Question about English (US)
i learned two expressions which are "you got it", "times two" from youtube. so i want to test out these phrases and i would like you to confirm if i got these phrases correctly! please teach me.

A: can you grab me coke from the fridge over there?
B: you got it. do you need something to drink too, C?
C: yes, times two!
from what i understand,
"you got it" = "sure thing/yes"
"times two" = "x2".

Your English is good so I'll reply in English! :) To me, "you got it" feels a bit forced... I would never say it. Maybe it's a more common phrase in other parts of the world, but in Toronto, I don't think it's as common... Here, "sure/yeah" would be more common and would feel more natural in my opinion :)
However, I've never heard "times two" before... I don't recommend you say it. Just "same thing (for me)" would be perfect.

@Ahokali one more thing please, what's the difference between "you got it" and "i got it", when responding to someone's request?

@QLiu "You got it" sounds more like "I will do as you say", and "I got it" sounds more like "okay". Again, however, "you go it" sounds very forced to me.

@Vicinian ah, how about "sure thing" instead of "you got it/sure/no problem"?

"You got it" is a reply normally mentioned after being asked for something or being told to do something.
"I got it" can be one of two things.
1. It can be a reply after being asked something or told to do something. Usually meaning that you understand what was asked of you.
2. It can be used to let someone know that you obtained something.

@QLiu Yes, "sure thing" is better :) However, it's longer than it needs to be and sounds fabricated (because it's an expression). Between friends, the most casual and natural think you can just say is "sure" or "yeah" :) If you are perhaps talking to someone with whom you are less close to, "sure thing" might be used more. I also think it's used more by older people (maybe middle aged?).

@QLiu I think English learners use expressions much more often than actual native English speakers, so I just wanted to warn you. Most of the time, you can just speak normally ("yeah", "sure", "same", "okay", etc.) instead of using specific prefabricated expressions. The shorter the answer, the more common haha :)
