There are so few Ukranian immigrants around that I have yet to meet one. Other than that, I think what's dominating the picture Germans have about Ukraine at the moment is the conflict with Russia, and the fact that a lot of the people from east Ukraine seem to feel more like Russians than Ukrainians. With all the political trouble and revolutions, it's hard not to think that Ukraine has yet to find a common ground on which to actually be a country.
