Question about English (US)
In the US, they call tv programs like Gossip girl, Breaking bad as TV "shows."
I'm a little confused because in my home country those are dramas not the shows.
Can someone explain to me this pls?

Shows is a general term to describe anything on tv that is not a movie. Gossip girl is a drama show. Friends is a comedic show. Show describes all tv programs, then there are more specific words like drama, comedic, horror, etc to describe the specific genre of shows.
