And could there be context where I can say "there are many" /"there is much"/"I have many"/"I have much"?
It seems like they can be used when "people" or "water" or "apples" is implied as in "there are many (people)"/"there is much (water)"/"I have many (apples)" /"I have much (water)".

Yes, you can use S2 after S1. After S1, we know that we are talking about possibilities or water or apples, so that word is implied when you use S2
